Are you an Elise?
- work/life balance
- function over form
- family oriented
- my home is my haven
You are a strong traditionalist with a pragmatic nature, and you view your home as your haven. You require private spaces to relax and read a good book. But you do focus a lot of your energy on your family and will look for a floor plan that best accommodates your family’s lifestyle.
Home design must have an open, practical kitchen to keep you connected to family and friends as they’re gathered in the great room.
Energy efficiency is a priority, along with easy-care surfaces (such as solid surface countertops, ceramic tile and laminate flooring) and practical features like a large laundry room rate high with you. You have an affinity for warm woods and squared off rooms (rather than curved walls). You tend to prefer landscaping that is colorful but fairly easy to maintain. As an Elise, you are at ease in conventional, mixed communities with families of all stages.
Suggested “Elise” Plan
|ABOUT THIS PLAN|
Arches and display areas shorten the distance from the front door to the great room. Elise wants the kitchen open to the dining and great rooms but not open to the entry. The practical island and large pantry are important to her since she has family and friends over often for informal get-togethers.
- Windows are in abundance in this home since Elise understands the importance of natural light and fresh air to her family.
- A built-in dresser in the master bedroom gives the room more space and, since Elise is practical, the added storage in the bathroom is a must.
- A large rear foyer includes a pet center, complete with a pet shower and storage for food, kennel and leashes. If Elise does not have a pet, the shower can be used for gardening, watering plants or dirty little feet covered with mud.
